Question:
"What caused you to write this book?"
Answer:
"First, I am very angry at
the fairy tales, fantasies and falsehoods which are commonly accepted as
Bible truth. Second, there is much wonderful truth in the Bible
which even experienced Bible students seem to miss. I wrote this
book because I want to help people replace false ideas with truth."
Question:
"When you say 'fairy tales, fantasies and falsehoods' commonly pass for Bible truth in our society, what do you
mean?"
Answer:
"Here is a short
list:"
"Good people go to heaven after
death."
"Bad people go to hell after death."
"Hell is ever-burning."
"Everyone has an immortal soul."
"This is God's world."
"God is a trinity."
"Today is the only day of
salvation."
Question:
"You are saying that the above list is false?"
Answer:
"I am saying that every
statement above, when compared with what the Bible says, is false."
Question:
"When you say that there is much wonderful truth in the Bible which
most people miss, what do you mean?"
Answer:
"Here is a short
list:"
"Every person who has ever lived will have the
opportunity of the New Covenant."
"To have this opportunity, people who have
lived on Earth in past ages will be
physically
resurrected to live again on Earth and offered the New Covenant."
"Jesus Christ will return to Earth from heaven
to rule Earth for 1,000 years."
"Successful Christians will rule with Christ."
"Christ and successful Christians will rebuild
Earth."
"God will bring heaven to Earth."
"Earth will become the center of the
universe."
Question:
"The statements you make are startling. How do you prove
things in your book?"
Answer:
"All statements are proved by
quoting Scripture. 922 Bible verses are quoted in whole or in part
from three popular Bible translations: The King James Version, the
New International Version, and the New Revised Standard Version.
No emphasis is added to direct Bible quotes. They appear as they do in
their original sources."
Question:
"Who is this book written for?"
Answer:
"The truth
seeker."
Question:
"Who is a truth seeker?"
Answer:
"The truth seeker is a person who
does not automatically accept another human's word on important
subjects. A truth seeker performs the work of going to source
documents to prove what is true regarding important eternal subjects."
Question:
"You are saying that the truth seeker digs to get the real truth
about a subject?"
Answer:
"Correct."
Question:
"Who is this book not for?"
Answer:
"The non-truth
seeker. Such a person routinely accepts other humans' word on
important subjects. The non-truth-seeker accepts the 'party
line'. He or she seeks to go along with the majority point of
view."
Question:
"Did Jesus talk about truth seekers and non-truth-seekers?"
Answer:
"Yes, he did. Here's a quote
from Scripture:"
"Enter through the narrow
gate; for the gate is wide and the road is
easy that leads to
destruction, and there are many who take
it.
For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to
life, and
there are few who find
it." [Matthew 7:13-14 NRSV]
"Most people are
non-truth-seekers; few are truth seekers."
Question:
"So you are saying that this book is not for most
people?"
Answer:
"Correct. Truth
seekers are not a majority in our society."
Question:
"You say that users of this book learn Bible truth fast. How
do they learn fast?"
Answer:
"Three ways."
"First, Scriptures on a given subject are
scattered throughout the Bible. I have already performed the research and identified
Scriptures for 32
subjects in 32 chapters. Second, key Scriptures in each chapter are identified by BOLDing or underlining. Third, this book contains
God's Master Plan -- a 'road map' of overview Bible knowledge. With God's Master
Plan readers can attach detailed knowledge to an overview Bible
knowledge framework. These
three features greatly increase speed in learning the Bible."
Question:
"What major benefit can a reader derive from this book?"
Answer:
"A reader can master
essential Bible knowledge as fast as possible."
Question:
"Are there any additional features which make this book especially
useful?"
Answer:
"The Subject Index is 12
pages in size. It allows the reader to find the exact page or
pages for many hundreds of subjects. The Scripture Index is 7
pages in size. It allows the reader to find every place where a
particular Bible verse (of 922) is quoted. These two additional
features add a lot to the usefulness of this book."
Question:
"How long did it take you to write this book?"
Answer:
"Forty
years of Bible study constitute the background of the book. The
research for some chapters, "Hell" for example, was completed
30 years ago. The main writing began in earnest 10 years
ago."
Question:
"Which chapter did you write first?"
Answer:
"The
chapter on 'Truth.' This book is all about truth. A
person not seeking truth should not read this book. The second chapter
was written on 'Lies,' the counter subject of truth.
Question:
"What qualifies you to write this book?"
Answer:
"Forty years of personal
Bible study under the guidance of the Holy Sprit. (See the book
for how the Holy Sprit reveals truth.) The gift from God of
analytical reasoning enabled me to organize what I learned."
Question:
"Is there a predecessor to this book?"
Answer:
"Yes. The
predecessor book (30 chapters, 158 pages) was published in a small
printing under the title Bible Study Guides in 1999.
Non-denominational weekly Bible Studies, held in a Senior Citizen's
center between 1999 and 2005, enabled me to field test this first
edition. During these six years the book was expanded to 32
chapters, 240 pages, and re-titled in the new edition."
Question:
"You say you field tested this book in weekly Bible studies
for six years (1999-2005). What are the results of this field testing?"
Answer:
"Our results mirrored
exactly what Jesus says about truth seekers. Forty people attended
the initial Bible Study sessions. Today we have about 10
attendees. The thirty people who left were upset because the Bible
says something different from what they had been told (by humans).
The ten people who stayed are thrilled with the wonderful truth the
Bible really says. These weekly Bible studies, lasting six years,
constitute the longest running activity this Senior Citizens center has
ever sponsored."
Question:
"Does this book represent the view of any church or religious organization?"
Answer:
"No."
Question:
"How were you able to avoid presenting the view of any church or
religious organization?"
Answer:
"It is easy to come up with a church or
religious organization view if you consider only certain
Scriptures. I avoided this by considering all the
Scriptures on a given subject."
Question:
"Don't you believe this book would sell better if it were endorsed
by a church or other religious organization?"
Answer:
"No. That's the problem with most 'Bible' books. They represent the view of a particular
church or religious organization. This book, by presenting complete Bible
knowledge, can be useful to anyone: church members, non-church
members, atheists, agnostics, Moslems, Buddhists, Confucians,
animists, etc. -- anyone. Everyone needs God's message."
Question:
"Are there any prerequisites to using this book?"
Answer:
"Yes. The reader should already
believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is therefore worthy of
study. Many books are already available which prove the Biblical inspiration
of God. I have written a chapter on this subject in the
book. If a person does not believe the Bible is a worthy book,
then why study it?"
